Sailing Komodo: The Archipelago by Sea
Exploring Komodo National Park aboard a traditional phinisi sailing vessel.

Trip Overview
Description:
The Experience
Indonesia is an archipelago first and a landmass second. Travelling only by road or air never quite explains how the country actually works. To understand the geography properly, you need to spend time on the water.
We begin by flying from Bali to Flores, where a traditional wooden phinisi liveaboard becomes your base for the week. From there the route is shaped by tides, weather and wildlife.
Instead of changing hotels every night, the boat moves quietly through the islands. Each morning begins in a new anchorage. Some days involve hiking the dry hills of Komodo or Rinca in search of dragons. Others are spent drifting above coral reefs or swimming with manta rays. Afternoons often slow down naturally, reading on deck while the boat glides toward the next island.
It is one of the most comfortable ways to experience the wild side of the Indonesian archipelago.
Who This Trip Is For
This journey works best for travellers who feel at home near the ocean. Divers, snorkellers and wildlife enthusiasts usually find it particularly rewarding.
While the boats are very comfortable and fully crewed, life on board is still maritime. Guests need to be comfortable moving between the main vessel and small tender boats, walking uneven island trails and spending long days outdoors.
For small groups of friends or families travelling together, it can become an extraordinary shared experience.
