We design slow, personalised journeys across Asia, Europe, and Africa—for women-led groups, senior travellers, families, and solo explorers who would rather experience a place than simply photograph it.

The heart behind our business

Fifteen years ago, my partner and I found ourselves in a remote Ladakhi village. No network, no star hotel, just a homestay and a gurgling stream. That trip gave us what we now call our “Unhotel Moment.” It was not about luxury or ticking off sights. It was about sitting still long enough to let a place sink in.

Over the past three years, we have lived as digital nomads across Portugal, Spain, Germany, and Indonesia. We have learned what it means to move slowly, to belong temporarily, to travel as a way of living rather than escaping. That rhythm - the one most tourists miss - is what we design for our travellers now.

Before Unhotel, I helped build brands and co-founded a travel start-up you may know: OYO. But this—designing journeys for people who ask “What’s behind that temple door?” instead of “How many sights can I tick off today?” - this is the work I was meant to do.

The Storyteller

Manish comes from advertising. For him, every itinerary is a canvas—a chance to build something that shifts perspective and leaves people different than when they started. He sees travel as transformation, not just tourism. A planner and poet in equal measure.

Shilpi leads with heart and grit. She runs Unhotel’s operations and women’s journeys, empowering others and building true community. Visionary and doer, she turns ideas into soulful adventures.

Binny

The Choreographer

The person who makes sure every itinerary lands perfectly - while managing it all from Jalandhar as a young mother. Binny handles vendor relationships, client coordination, and the precise timing that keeps complex trips running smoothly. She anticipates problems before they surface, solves logistics seamlessly, and ensures nothing slips when it matters most.

Moushumi

The Curator

Five years deep in content and social media, Moushumi manages our digital presence and occasionally pitches to corporate clients. She handles the daily chaos with unusual calm, from Guwahati. A painter and traveller herself, she brings creative instinct to everything she touches, spotting details others miss and keeping things moving with quiet efficiency.

Each Unhotel journey starts with a question, not a quote. What moves you? What slows you down? We believe travel is not just about seeing new places. It is about rediscovering parts of yourself along the way.

At Unhotel, we believe travel is not a checklist of landmarks. It is the way the mountain air feels in the Alps, the rhythm of the souks in Marrakech, or the stillness of sunrise in Laos.

We may skip an Instagram hotspot for a tucked-away monastery, a family-run riad, or a trail only locals know. Every trip is handcrafted, paced with care, and quietly surprising.

We now also manage Family Travel Offices (FTO) for discerning travellers who want long-term, relationship-driven support for their journeys.
